i don't know if you've already covered this, but what is your stance on the n-word? Like who do you believe should be able to say it? Its obvious that you think white people shouldn't say it, but what about PoC? And non-black PoC?

I think I said this in another ask, but only Black people have the right to reclaim the word and use it how they wish, because “Nigger” is an anti-Black slur, therefore, only Black people have the right to reclaim it. “Nigga,” is a branch-off of “nigger,” so for non-Black people of any race/ethnicity to use it is racist, because coming from anyone else, it is oppressive language, not reclamation.

On a related note, I know there are instances in which the N word is modified to use against non-Black PoC, but even then, it’s still an anti-Black slur, because it is being used to compare them to Black people. For example, sandn***er is used against East Asian people, but it’s still anti-Black.

As said by Jeff Chang, Anti-Blackness is the crux of racism. (This is a short read, but packed with information.)

And to quote Zuky from a thread “That’s why racism against non-Black people of color sometimes falls back on anti-Blackness as a defining source of derision: Arabs are “sand n——-s”, Asians (especially Filipinos during the US invasion) are “yellow n——s”, etc. Blackness operates as the baseline of racist oppression and both oppressor and oppressed measure other forms of racism against it.

The n word might be used as a base on which people build other slurs for PoC who aren’t Black. But it’s still not theirs to reclaim, because at the end of the day, the slur used against non-Black PoC is still an anti-Black slur.
