(I refuse to play this semantics game. Racism is a form of prejudice and discrimination, henceforth to say “you can be prejudiced or discriminatory, but not racist because insert reason here” is just wrong. You don’t need powers to be racist. In the case of white racists, they have powers and use them because they’re fucking assholes, but hey, they’re still racist fucking asshole. A racist’s a racist.)

LOL. I love how whenever I bite my tongue, you say exactly what I was going to say. Seriously though. Racism, discrimination, and prejudice are three different things. They play into each other at times, sure. But when you take power differences into mind? Different as can be because some things, poc are capable and other things—oh look at that!—WE AREN’T. Not that difficult.

But hey, since you have the decency and common courtesy to have a face as opposed to an anon mask, I’ll be nice and simply ask this. What is the difference? Racism means “hatred or intolerance of another race.” Discrimination means “treatment or consideration of, or making a distinction in favor of or against, a person or thing based on the group, class, or category to which that person or thing belongs rather than on an individual merit.” Prejudice means “an unfavorable opinion or feeling formed beforehand without knowledge, thought, or reason.” All are dictionary definitions of the word and all convey the same meaning. Hatred, intolerance, and favoritism.)

You keep going by the dictionary definition of racism as if it’s infallible, but can you stop and think a second about WHO wrote the definition of it and WHEN they wrote it?? Can we think about that context before waving the dictionary definition as the one true meaning? Because if you really think white men in the early 1900s could give an honest, concise definition of racism, then there is no point in this conversation happening.
