The lengths you go to sometimes.

We say something about our oppression and white people will demand proof. Rather than looking it up themselves, they will demand—not ask, but demand—an education.

When we provide them with links, statistics, etc, they pick and choose what they want to read to support their own argument, and willfully ignore everything we just provided to them.

When we get irritated with them for derailing the conversation, and for being willfully obtuse, they get mad, and try to tone police. In other words, “I’m going to be as big an asshole as I like to you, but you better be nice to me, or else I won’t listen.”

Like your ass was listening in the first place.

And if we ask them to leave us alone, they insist they’ve done nothing wrong.

When we explain to them what they did wrong… break it down into paragraphs, explaining what they did, why it was offensive, why they shouldn’t do it…. they kick up a fucking tantrum. And continue to do what they were doing before.

And when we finally get fed up with them because they successfully entered a space that wasn’t theirs, derailed the conversation, condescended us, treated us inhumanely, harrassed us, and would not shut the royal everlasting fuck up… and we have the nerve to tell them off… they get mad, sad, or my favorite, ~*~*triggered*~*~ (Not legitimately triggered. Triggered as in, “Oh my god, you yelled at me and I’m backed into a corner but don’t want to admit that I’m being an asshole so let me cry trigger so that the fall out will land on you instead of me,” triggered.)

And then, other white people who have no clue what the fuck was going on will try to school us and tell us how mean and bad and evil and reverse racist we are.

And if we try to tell them what happened, they plug their ears and go, “LALALALA NOT LISTENING, YOU’RE AN EVIL POC WHO IS MEAN TO WHITE PPL AND HATES US BLAH BLAH BLAH”

God forbid you tell them to take a minute and read the thread so that they can be informed on what actually happened.
